How Lil John got me out of my darkest hours.

The sheer insanity in this video is unbelievable.
Sometimes you need a lil bit of lil john in your life to remind you: "hey it is ok.  Crunk will always get you through everything."

90s Golden Chinese Melodies, the pinnacle of music.

Warning:  This post is relatable to like 10 people I know.

Ever thought mannnnn I wish I kept my ballin Chinese Melodies Golden Love Songs Volumes 1-10 from the 90s?  Because I thought about that pretty much all the time and especially when a new sexually charged and highly inappropriate Beyonce song comes on the radio and you get all nostalgic?

When I was 9-12 mannn I loved those songs, things are happening and it's pretty exciting when you go to the Asian CD place and cop the new one or copped a cassette from somebody and put that jawn on auto-reverse.  I got so many mixed tapes and it would bring inexplicable joy to just see and listen to them again...something similar to below, although I can't really google image search any of the ones I recognized.

Back when the parents ball out til you fall out and spring for the top of the line Nissan Maxima GLE w/the BOSE CD player, man things are going down when you pop that  new tape/CD I just got from Eden this bad boy below...words can't explain.

So about 2 yrs ago, I went on a quest to compile a playlist on youtube, as you know, the most reliable source for hard to find and free music. After countless hours of clicking related songs, I came up w/the list.   90s Cantopop was dominated by the Four Heavenly Kings, which were relatively easy to find, the Grasshopper songs were harder because I didn't even know their names.  Some are repeated in the playlist only because I honestly can't tell if it's the same song or not, the quirks of not understanding the language I guess.  Sound quality from MV that probably came from people's VHS is of course not great, hence having those CDs now would be fantastic.

All of these songs went on the mixed tapes, but some I still listen like daily-like this morning, like these personal favorites:
no. 16, 42 and 19.  No. 25 brings me right back into the Maxima right now...it's crazy how music can stir up so much you think you may have forgotten.

Man if I come in the whip and it just plays these songs on shuffle/loop I'm good, probably never have to turn on the radio again.  Give it a whirl if you're on a long trip and can get reception for Youtube, to me they're like 3 hours of eargasm maybe to you, one or two will be like oh whoa, I remember this song...
